Description
The Accounting Supervisor is a key role responsible for performing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls and will report to the Head of Finance. This individual will manage two accountants, ensuring the accuracy of financial information, the integrity of accounting processes, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Accounting Supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting the company's financial strategy, providing accurate reporting to leadership and driving continuous improvement within the accounting function. Key Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close processes to ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting. Manage two accountants supporting multiple entities, including general ledger, inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Improve and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, including variance analysis and key performance metrics. Support tax compliance, including the preparation of all required tax returns. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function. Ensure the company’s accounting policies and procedures are up to date and effectively communicated. Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance. Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements. Experience with ERP systems and financial software; proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments. High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in medical/healthcare is a plus.
