Platform link: otrovato, B2B platform in Africa Job Description: The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient processes. This role involves managing month-end close, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, tax regulations, and company policies. Coordinate audits (internal/external) and liaise with auditors. Work with departments (e.g., HR, Operations) to align financial strategies. Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, including reconciliations (bank, GL, etc.). Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accuracy. Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement best practices in accounting processes. Ensure robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Payroll & Treasury Oversight: Supervise payroll processing and ensure timely tax filings. Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and vendor payments. Supervision & Leadership: Manage and mentor Kenya accounting staff. Assign tasks, review work, and ensure adherence to deadlines. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred). 5+ years in accounting/finance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel, and financial reporting. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication. CPA, CMA, or MBA (a plus). Excellent English is a must.
