The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring
accurate revenue recognition, and managing account reconciliations. This role is essential in
maintaining compliance with accounting principles and delivering timely and accurate financial
reporting. The position supervises the accounting team, provides guidance on complex financial
issues, and collaborates with other departments to support business operations.
E S S E N T I A L J O B F U N C T I O N S / D U T I E S
? Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial
reporting.
? Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with relevant accounting standards and
company policies.
? Supervise account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all general
ledger accounts.
? Review journal entries and ensure proper classification and coding of financial
transactions.
? Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulations.
? Collaborate with other departments to ensure the proper flow of financial information.
? Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for senior
management.
? Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative
and productive team environment.
? Coordinate with auditors during the annual audit process and ensure the timely
completion of audit requests.
? Handle ad-hoc accounting and finance projects as needed.
? Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures to improve
efficiency and accuracy.
K E Y R E L A T I O N S H I P S & L E A D E R S H I P
? Accounting Team: Supervise, train, and support accounting staff on month-end close,
reconciliations, and reporting.
? Senior Management: Work closely with senior leadership to ensure the integrity of
financial statements and provide insights into financial performance.
? Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Sales, HR) to
ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost allocation.
? External Auditors: Coordinate with auditors to ensure the timely and accurate
completion of the annual audit.
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
Minimum Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
? 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on month-end close, revenue
recognition, and reconciliations.
? Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
? In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
? Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
? Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
? CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional certification.
? Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
? Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an accounting department.
? Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices or regulations
