We are seeking a detail oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. In this role, you will support a variety of accounting functions such as processing invoices, maintaining financial records, handling payroll, and supporting day to day accounting operations. The position offers excellent opportunities for career growth. You will begin with core tasks such as data entry and accounts payable/receivable. This is an ideal role for someone eager to develop a strong foundation in accounting and advance their career within the finance department.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent designation preferred) is preferred
  • minimum of a 2 year college diploma in accounting or related field is required
  • at least one year of related accounting experience is required
  • strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • strong proficiency with MS Office applications is a must, especially excel
  • proficient in data entry with excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets
  • Maintain organized records of all financial transactions to ensure compliance and accessibility
  • Assist with processing payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees
  • Assist in the processing and management of invoices, payments and collections
  • Maintain payroll records and assist with payroll tax filings and compliance
  • Ensure all financial documents are filed and stored in an organized and accessible manner
  • Support auditing an compliance tasks as necessary to ensure proper record keeping
  • Provide general assistance with other accounting tasks as necessary to ensure proper record keeping
