DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accounting Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and reports. This position will involve managing day-to-day accounting functions, assisting with financial audits, and collaborating with various departments to optimize financial processes. The Accounting Technician will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, administering accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements that comply with industry regulations. As part of our team, you will contribute to impactful projects that support company’s objectives. We are looking for someone who is passionate about accounting and finance, possesses strong analytical skills, and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Technician or in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing/Fabrication Sector.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles/practices and financial reporting, as well as bookkeeping procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
    Compensation based on applicable experience
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Complete timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and statements for accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring reconciliation of transactions.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and provide timely analysis to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit GST and CRA payments.
  • Support auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
