ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

Salary: £18.28 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00

Location: Office based in Portsmouth City Centre
Join a dedicated Finance Team delivering critical support to the Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services Directorate. We’re seeking a Temporary Accounting Technician to provide high-quality financial management and advice, directly supporting the Senior Accountant and wider leadership team.

• Assist with monthly financial monitoring and budget forecasting
• Support the preparation of final accounts and statutory financial statements
• Provide analysis and advice on financial and contractual issues
• Apply financial regulations, interpret legislation, and assist with grant returns
• Help identify cost savings and support service transformation
• Contribute to financial appraisals and maintain effective financial models
• Deputise for the Senior Accountant when required
