Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring 2 Accounting Technicians (Gross Margins) on a permanent basis on our Retail Accounting team.
This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan .

WHO YOU ARE:

You are looking for a career in accounting and:

  • Have a high school diploma, two progressive accounting courses from an accredited post-secondary institution and a minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Candidates with a high school diploma, four progressive accounting courses from an accredited post-secondary institution, and a minimum of one year of relevant accounting experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Audit local Co-op inventory packages for gross margin calculations, assessing reasonability and consistency of calculated results.
  • Investigate irregularities and advise General Managers and department leaders on any corrections required. This will require making recommendations on changes to procedures, and systems to ensure commodity margins are recorded accurately.
  • Review JDE RREC output for miscoding and failed system processing and recommend corrective coding.
  • Liaise with FCL Vendors for direct ship billing, ensuring validity of supplier billing.
  • Other duties as required.
    Who you’ll work with :
    The Team: You will work closely with several other Accounting Technicians who focus on gross margins and will be a part of a larger accounting team of approximately 35 people. You will report into the Retail Accounting Supervisor and will work with professionals across the Co-operative Retailing System to address accounting discrepancies. This team strives to create a culture of collaboration and excellence by working with open communication.
