POSITION OVERVIEW

We are hiring for two levels of the Accounting Technician roleJuniorandSeniorto support financial management and accounting operations for federal government clients. Both roles contribute to ensuring compliance with financial regulations, reconciling fiscal discrepancies, and supporting audits and financial reporting. The Senior role includes leadership responsibilities and strategic financial guidance, while the Junior role focuses on operational support and team collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting federal agencies or large-scale government financial programs.
  • Knowledge of financial compliance frameworks and audit procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial systems integration.
  • Senior role only:Professional certifications such asCPAorCGFMare a plus.

  • U.S. work authorization required.
  • Security Requirements: Ability to obtain andmaintaina public trust clearance(i.e.must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident who hasresidedin US for past three years consecutively).
  • Must be willing to operate in a hybrid environment, including work in person at a client site in the DC Metro area and at the Rios Partners office in Arlington, VA as needed (final schedule determined by team and project)

Responsibilities

COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply knowledge of theU.S. Standard General Ledger,Federal financial statements, andFederal budget execution.
  • Reconcile and resolve fiscal discrepancies.
  • Assess financial products and procedures for compliance with government standards.
  • Support audits, financial reporting, and budget analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.

SENIOR-LEVEL ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead accounting and financial teams, coordinating efforts with accountants and analysts.
  • Provide technical assistance and strategic recommendations to senior federal leadership.
  • Advise staff and federal officials on financial systems procedures and reporting standards.
  • Ensure timely submission and proper formatting of financial reports in accordance with federal requirements.
