JOB SUMMARY

We are on the lookout for a full-time, detail-orientated Accounting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with experience in various accounting software. This is an in-person position, Monday to Friday.
MNS & Associates and its affiliates provide a broad range of accounting, taxation and assurance services. Our business services also include developing business plans, incorporating new business entities, succession planning, and joint venture structuring and financing. While accurate financial records are essential for a company to meet tax filing requirements, they are equally important as a management tool. We specialize in small and medium-sized companies. Our services are designed to assist businesses through sound planning, financial and quality, and management systems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Caseware, Profile) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Canadian payroll and tax regulations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
    This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to various communication styles and capable of adjusting their approach to meet client needs. They should be able to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
  • Prepare and assist with Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns, Personal and Corporate Tax Returns.
  • Bookkeeping for clients.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial financial regulations.
  • Document filing in an electronic database for easy access and retrieval.
  • Communicate directly with clients and the CRA, providing necessary information as requested.
  • Collaborate with team members to support filing of tax returns as well as audit and review letter packages.
  • Assist with the firm’s accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Support external audits and year-end processes.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned .
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
