We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Technician to join our Financial Management team. This role offers the opportunity to study for an accounting qualification, alongside your day to day role.
Financial Management is at the core of the activities that deliver against our Strategic Drivers. Our role is to manage and maintain Nationwide’s financial strength, by ensuring we are spending our members money wisely and helping build great customer propositions to maximise income potential.
You will be supporting a team of Accountants within the COO Finance team who Partner the Customer Technology change portfolio. Helping to ensure the month end is accurately represented, aiding in the preparation of forecasts and giving you valuable insight into how the Society’s investment portfolio’s are financially managed to deliver more for our Customers.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Finance Technician you will be working in a team with 3 Accountants, supporting them with the month end position, posting accruals and prepayments to ensure the finances are accurately represented. You will carry out transactional financial analysis, support with forecasting and carry out variance analysis. As well as writing commentary and speaking to internal stakeholders.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we have just moved onto a new Finance system.
You will be studying for an accounting qualification alongside your day-to-day role.
