JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Technician to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires proficiency in the Sage 50 accounting software and a solid understanding of financial processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as an Accounting Technician or similar role in the financial services industry.
• Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to analyze data effectively.
• Good communication skills to interact with internal teams and external clients.
• A diploma or degree in Accounting, or a related field is mandatory.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
• Maintain financial records by entering data into accounting software, Sage 50 CND Edition.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accounted for.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial reports.
• Collaborate with your manager to resolve discrepancies and provide support for financial inquiries.
• Utilize Kronos or Ceridian for payroll processing and related tasks as needed.
• Perform general clerical duties related to the accounting department, including filing, data entry, and document management.
• Apply strong math skills to analyze financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
