CPA Sole practitioner in the Vancouver/Burnaby area requires a full time Accounting Technician.
The main focus of this practice is the preparation of compiled financial statements and tax returns for owner/manager businesses. In addition, there will be exposure to review engagements, personal tax and bookkeeping.

Under the supervision of the practitioner, you will be responsible for the following:

• Preparation of compiled financial statements under CSRS 4200 and T2 corporate tax returns
• Preparation of reviewed financial statements
• Preparation of T1 personal tax returns
• Preparation of client bookkeeping on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This will include the preparation of payroll, preparation of remittances for GST, PST, WCB and payroll.
• Phone calls to CRA and various clients to deal with specific matters
• Other administrative duties as required.

This position requires the candidate to have the following qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Caseware and Caseview
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Working knowledge and experience with Quickbooks or Sage 50 accounting software
• Working experience with Taxprep or a similar tax program
• Experience working in a paperless environment would be an asset.
