Does university not appeal to you? Our Accounts Advisory team in Stoke are recruiting a Trainee to join their highly supportive and successful team as part of the 2025 Dains Early Careers Programme.
As Accounts Advisory Trainee, this apprenticeship opportunity will allow you to build your career within Dains with study support, guidance, mentoring and team interaction at all levels. This trainee position is just the beginning of your successful career within accounting and finance.
As an Accounts Advisory Trainee, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting services including bookkeeping, VAT returns, accounts preparation, and tax. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals who will support your development and guide you through your professional qualifications.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

• The desire to actively progress towards your AAT qualification is essential.
• Minimum Grade B in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent.
• A minimum of 112 UCAS points or equivalent (Excluding General Studies).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• You will be assisting with preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies with support from senior members of the team.
• Supporting the team with bookkeeping and VAT returns
• Helping prepare personal and corporate tax returns
• Liaising with clients to gather information and provide updates for the Managers and Partners.
• Learning how to efficiently use accounting softwares and systems
• Working towards your AAT qualification.
