Description

Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a business that provides specialist services to the construction industry across the UK, in the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant based in Little Warley, Essex.
You will become part of a collaborative, supportive accounts team within this successful, growing business and report to the Group Financial Controller. You will be involved in day-to-day transactions and associated tasks. The role offers study support to complete AAT or begin study.
Daily Tasks will typically include the following -
· Maintain the purchase ledger using Exchequer.
· Process invoices, and generate payment runs in a timely manner.
· Ensure prompt clearance of invoice queries with suppliers:
· Establish good working relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely resolution of any queries.
· Preparing payment runs.
· Processing staff expense claims
· Sales ledger – raising invoices, sending invoices and remittance statements
· Credit Control - chasing of outstanding debt.
· Assisting in the preparation of payroll data / processing timesheets for submission to an external bureau: dealing with payroll queries
· Supporting the team in month end closure.
· CIS payments and returns

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS

· Experience of working in a Purchase Ledger environment
· A recognised accounting qualification (AAT or similar) part or fully completed would be advantageous.
· Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
· Numeracy skills and good IT (particularly Microsoft applications) and database management skills.
· Organisation and discipline, curiosity and an analytic mind.
· Confidence, patience and capable of remaining calm under pressure is also important as is working to deadlines.
· Interpersonal skills to build relationships internally with your colleagues and external suppliers.
· A friendly can-do attitude and good communication skills.
· Good time management skills.
