Description

Casey Kavanagh & Company is an established and progressive accountancy practice in Sligo town. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior staff, the Partners and external clients where required. This role is office based but can offer flexibility in terms of hours, with the option to work between 15 and 20 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven minimum working experience of 3-4 years in accountancy practice role
  • Accounting technician qualification desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Excel is desirable (Microsoft Office Specialist certification would be an advantage)
  • Experience with software packages such as Sage would also be an advantage
  • Ability to manage workload
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Self – motivated with excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
  • Process transactions and prepare accounts to trial balance stage
  • Prepare small sole trader accounts for Senior/Partner review
  • Reconcile company bank accounts, debtors and creditors accounts, VAT and PAYE control accounts
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports as needed from time to time
  • Preparation of a small number of VAT returns on a bi-monthly basis
  • Weekly payroll processing for a small number of clients
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required to meet business needs from time to time.
