What You’ll Be Doing: As a Graduate Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for bookkeeping and payroll tasks, managing client accounts, and supporting accurate financial reporting. You will play a key role in delivering excellent client service by helping clients stay compliant and confident in their finances, while also assisting your seniors with their day-to-day tasks. Your main responsibilities: Bookkeeping Support: Assist the bookkeeping team with day-to-day tasks using cloud-based accounting software and Excel, under supervision. You will learn how to review transactions, perform basic data entry, and support the maintenance of accurate financial records. Payroll Assistance: Support payroll processing activities for Australian clients under guidance. This includes learning payroll fundamentals such as Superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax. You will assist with setting up employee details, reviewing payroll data, and ensuring records are accurate before pay runs. Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Processing: Assist with processing invoices, bills, and expenses using Xero and related tools. You will help organise supporting documents and understand how these transactions impact accounts and financial reports. Taskflow Management: Support the team in managing tasks using project management tools. You will learn how to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and provide progress updates to your supervisor or team members. Client Relationship Management & Communication: Assist with managing basic client relationships under guidance. This includes preparing simple communications, requesting required documents, clarifying information, and maintaining a professional, organised approach when interacting with clients. What your profile will look like: Must-Have - Strong Communication Skills: Fluent written and oral English communication skills are essential. Must-Have - Educational Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance OR full/part qualification in a professional accounting body (CIMA, ACCA, etc.). Must-Have - Strong Internet Connection: Stable fiber connectivity with a minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps. Preferred - Accounting & Excel Proficiency: Ability to understand basic accounting information along with basic Excel skills.
