Our client is a family-owned business based in a unique location in the picturesque Bury St. Edmunds countryside. Specialising in the supply of high-quality timber products across the UK. With a lively, modern office this is an opportunity for a someone to learn the next step of the process and play a key role in a successful and close-knit team. The Accounts Assistant will initially undertake invoicing, credit control and stock control with the opportunity to learn more and assist the accountant. Qualifications are not essential but the successful candidate will be someone with a can-do attitude who is keen to learn and can go the extra mile.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in data entry or a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles is preferred
  • Must be willing to commute to the office 5 days a week

Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system
  • Credit Control
  • Raising customer invoices
  • Stock management
  • Maintain and update financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as required
