JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our Accountant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills, proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Accountant and wider management team in their daily activities, ensuring a smooth workflow.
The role will be on site, full time Monday-Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday 9am to 4pm.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in an Accounts support role is essential
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Xero is desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Manage incoming calls and respond to inquiries, maintaining professionalism and courtesy
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards using Xero
  • Processing incoming post
  • Producing and sending management reports to the senior management team
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records
  • Processing invoices and receipts
  • Responsible for the billing process and on-going management of timely collections of monies owed
  • Complying with financial regulations alongside in-house policies
