Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re on the lookout for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Accounts Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our accounts payable and payroll processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your efforts will directly support the financial health of the company while contributing to our broader goals and objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You’ll assist with a variety of accounting tasks, from processing invoices to supporting payroll operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Payable:

    • Processing domestic freight invoices and account reconciliations.
  • Managing AP invoices via Redmap, coding where needed, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Running supplier payments and maintaining supplier files.
  • Assisting with month-end closing and correcting errors for accountants.
  • Payroll Support:


    • Acting as a backup for the AP/Payroll Officer, including maintaining leave and sickness records.

    • Inputting timesheet data, reviewing computed wages, and ensuring payroll accuracy.
    • Preparing periodic reports on earnings, taxes, and deductions.
    • Workplace Health & Safety (WHS):


      • Following all safety protocols and reporting any workplace hazards.

      • Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety, as well as those around you.
        You’ll also be flexible to take on ad-hoc duties as needed to support the broader finance team.
