Description

West Buckland School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to augment the existing Finance Team. This post is for immediate appointment subject to interview process and receipt of satisfactory references and enhanced Disclosure and Barring clearance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Assistant will support the Finance team in day-to-day processing and accounting administration. The role is managed by the Finance Manager.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This post plays an important role in in the day-to-day function and delivery of the Finance Office. This is a ‘customer facing’ role. The post holder will need to deliver excellent customer service and will play a vital role in building good relationships with both internal and external contacts.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To support the Fees Officer with ad hoc charges and termly invoicing.
  • To support the Fees Officer with debtor chasing, and management of the accounts receivable ledger.
  • To support the Payroll & Accounts Officer with invoice management, and the administration of the accounts @ inbox.
  • To support the Finance Office and Bursar with any general administration needs.
  • To manage the financial aspects of School trips and audit the accounts when the trip has been completed.
  • To assist with the administration of all cash-in-hand transactions.
  • Manage daily/weekly PayPal and Stripe accounting.
  • Ensure financial procedures are followed.
  • Support year end account closures, and information gathering for audit.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with stakeholders by telephone/email/letter.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and always displaying a high degree of integrity.
  • Carryout out any other reasonable requests in line with the broad responsibilities of the role.
