FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Role: Accounts Assistant
Location: Carlow
Salary: €30,000+ pa pro rata
3 month Contract with a view to permanency, FT 5 Days per week

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience 2+ years in industry in finance-related role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (preferably Sage 50).
  • Payroll experience and related systems are necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies and errors in financial data.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the overall success of the finance department.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address issues effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Processing: Assist with the day-to-day processing of invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Experience processing payroll a distinct advantage.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting software, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Office Administration: Perform general office duties, including filing, organising, and managing accounting records.
  • Ad-hoc Finance Tasks: Assist with any other finance-related tasks as required by the Manager.
