ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Full Time/Permanent

Salary – Circa £27,000 (Depending on experience)
SIMPLY UK is a leading developer of five star luxury nursing homes, constructing then throughout the United Kingdom. Once the homes are constructed, they are then operated as nursing homes by the company.
With continued grow of the company, an opportunity exists for an Accounts Assistant to join the Develop team, and support the accountancy function. The Accounts Assistant will play an important role by performing various activities such as:

Responsibilities
  • Process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provide other administrative support necessary to pay the obligations of the Company;
  • Purchase Order Matching;
  • Liaising with Creditors over incorrect invoicing;
  • Accounts Receivable;
  • Process accounts receivable invoices and manage and record customer payments;
  • Manage the aged debt ledger to ensure that all debt is collected within payment terms;
  • Monitor and advise of any potential bad debts;
  • Ensure cash is correctly allocated to each debtor account;
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly; and
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including filing, correspondence, and other admin tasks as needed.

To be successful in the role the Accounts Assistant should have a basic knowledge of financial processes. Other skills and experiences that would be required include:

  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel;
  • Proven experience in a similar role;
  • Experience with payroll processing and bank reconciliations;
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct financial analysis;
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
