JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support our finance team in managing daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will assist with bookkeeping, processing invoices, timesheets, managing accounts payable/receivable, and performing reconciliations. This is a key support role ensuring the company’s financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideal candidate would be studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc.
  • 6-12 Months of accounting experience desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage is a plus but not essential.

SKILLS:

  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Process, code, and post invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Process subcontractor timesheets accurately in preparation for payments.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, including chasing overdue payments.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Maintain and update financial records and ledgers.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and other departments regarding financial transactions.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
