JOB SUMMARY

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced accountant to join Sweeting & Smedley Limited, based in Hurst, near Wokingham. The accountant will support both the accounts department and tax department offering a varied role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant.
  • Have a minimum of 6 years UK accountancy practice experience.
  • Have a solid experience of accountancy software e.g. IRIS, Sage, FreeAgent, Xero and other online bookkeeping software.
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP.
  • Be an amiable team player.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts preparation for SME clients (FRS 102 Section 1a & FRS 105).
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax computations & CT600’s.
  • Advising clients on salary and dividends.
  • Preparation of Personal Tax Returns.
  • Assisting with VAT Returns.
  • Be the first point of contact for allocated clients, responding to various client enquiries in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Develop an ongoing, effective relationship with clients and ensure retention of clients.
  • Working within a team to ensure deadlines are met and be able to work independently.
