PAYROLL/PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT

Location: Boldon
Hours: Full-time (Mon–Fri)
Contract: Permanent
We are currently seeking a Payroll/Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our finance team in Boldon. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organised individual with strong experience in accounts payable and a working knowledge of payroll support. The role is pivotal to the smooth operation of our finance function and offers the opportunity to contribute to a busy and supportive team.

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Match, code, and input invoices in line with internal procedures
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and process supplier payment runs
  • Maintain accurate purchase ledger records using Sage 50
  • Liaise with suppliers to address payment and invoice queries
  • Assist with payroll duties, particularly in times of absence
  • Support with month-end close, including accruals and ad hoc duties
