JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation by managing accounts payable, assisting with data entry, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is essential, however Xero is preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy, maintaining up-to-date financial records.
  • Support month-end closing procedures by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in financial records and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Utilise Xero to manage financial data effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency within the finance department.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including filing documents and maintaining organised records.
  • Maintain accurate stock records.
