Accounts Clerk Job Description 
Job Summary  
We are seeking an Accounts Clerk with experience providing financial, administrative, and clerical services in a medium-sized business. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, entering and posting accounts payable and / or receivable data. 
  • Process incoming and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures. 
  • Generate accounts receivable and / or payable reports. 
  • Prepare and send invoices and customer statements. 
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending reminders and contacting overdue customers.
  • Review credit applications and limits. 
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. 
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues. 
  • Enter accounts payable invoices and prepare payments.
  • Pay monthly bills.

Requirements 

  • Minimum two years of proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk &/or Accounts Payable Clerk. 
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping and accounting procedures. 
  • Competency in MS Office and accounting software. 
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports. 
  • Excellent mathematical and critical thinking skills. 
  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability. 
  • Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks. 
  • Ability to complete tasks within a given timeline and remain calm under pressure. 
  • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills. 
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients, vendors and internal departments. 

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary, Monday to Friday 
Salary: $24.40 per hour
