Goose + Berry, an award-winning event catering company, is looking for a highly capable and motivated Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at our Maidenhead office. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the finance function in a fast-paced, growing business with a reputation for excellence.

As Finance Manager, you will play a central role in overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including:

  • Payroll: Overseeing accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Bookkeeping: Managing supplier/customer invoices, statements, payments, and supporting general ledger accuracy
  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and circulating monthly management accounts, performance reports, and supporting senior leadership with timely financial insights
  • Strategic Input: Advising the leadership team on financial implications of business decisions, trends, and strategic planning
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Managing sales spreadsheets, tracking performance, assisting with forecasting, budgeting, and cost control
  • Audit & Compliance: Supporting year-end accounts, coordinating with external auditors, and ensuring all statutory obligations are met
  • Tax: Managing VAT, corporation tax, PAYE settlement agreements, and other statutory returns
  • Process Improvement: Continuously driving improvements in financial processes and reporting systems
  • Supplier Management: Handling queries professionally, ensuring strong supplier relationships
  • Bank Reconciliations: Ensuring accurate reconciliation of accounts and maintenance of financial records

We’re seeking a confident and capable finance professional who can take ownership of the full finance function and support our wider business goals. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Have strong technical knowledge and prior experience in a similar finance role
  • Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Have proven success in business or process improvement initiatives
  • Be confident using Xero (experience with the software is highly desirable)
  • Be proactive, reliable, and adaptable, with a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
