Description
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts & Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance and drive strategic financial planning within the telecommunications sector.
  • The ideal candidate should have 13-15 years of experience, hold an ACA certification (2020 or earlier), and possess strong leadership and analytical skills to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA/Finance) is an advantage.
  • 13 - 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Professional Certification: Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) - Obtained in 2020 or earlier
  • Preferred Age Range: 35 - 40 Years
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications sector is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making at the executive level.
  • Ensure effective cost management and revenue optimization strategies.

Accounting & Financial Management:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and accounting policies in compliance with industry standards.
  • Supervise general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for financial improvements.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax filings.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and tax authorities to ensure financial compliance.
  • Keep up to date with telecommunications industry tax policies and statutory requirements.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

  • Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment decisions.
  • Manage foreign exchange transactions, financial risks, and hedging strategies.
  • Implement effective credit control measures to optimize working capital.

Audit & Internal Controls:

  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure financial transparency and accuracy.
  • Strengthen internal controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IFRS, GAAP, and other accounting standards.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on financial best practices and corporate governance.
