JOB PURPOSE
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing the accounting team. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the company’s financial health and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management and stakeholders. Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company’s budget, including project-specific budgets. Forecast financial results and cash flow to support decision-making. Track actual financial performance against budget and provide explanations for variances.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payment to vendors and subcontractors.Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and following up on outstanding payments.
Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial requirements. Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.
Team Management: Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.Manage workload distribution and delegate tasks effectively.
Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities.Analyze job cost reports and make recommendations for cost adjustments.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making on projects, investments, and business strategies.Evaluate the financial feasibility of new construction projects.
Cash Management: Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure it has sufficient funds to meet its operational and project-related needs.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.
Software and Systems: Utilize accounting software and financial management systems proficiently.Evaluate and recommend improvements in financial tools and processes.
