Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Officer owns the accounts payable and accounts receivable function from end to end. This is a standalone position within a finance team of four, and the work is hands-on and transactional in nature.Accounts payable covers two distinct streams. The first is general operating expenditure. The second is the overseas supplier creditors book, which requires close liaison with the shipping team to verify quantities and costings, and to match invoices against purchase orders before they are processed. Accounts receivable is a smaller function covering a wholesale customer book of 12 to 15 accounts, involving monthly statements and periodic follow-up.The successful candidate will take genuine ownership of the function, with the autonomy to resolve existing processing issues and to shape how the work is run.The finance team is small and purposeful, and the organisation is seeking someone who will take pride in this work and remain in the role for the long term.
