As an Accounts Officer - Vessel at BSM, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of assigned vessels, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and compliance with maritime financial standards. This role is essential in maintaining financial transparency between ship and shore, supporting operational efficiency, and enabling informed decision-making through reliable financial data. Key Responsibilities Execute timely accounting transactions for assigned vessels including invoices, expenses, payments, and payroll Prepare and submit periodic financial reports and monitor actual costs against budgets Issue client invoices in line with contractual agreements and monitor timely payments Raise and reconcile intercompany invoices and balances Provide financial data to support management reporting and decision-making Develop monthly accounting reports in line with company requirements Reconcile accounting transactions and maintain updated ledgers Update management accounting systems to support performance evaluation Stay informed on changes in accounting legislation and propose improvements Monitor compliance with ship management agreements, wage scales, and agent tariffs Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation Qualifications & Experience University degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally in ship management or maritime finance Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and financial reporting skills Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling Ability to interpret and apply accounting principles Effective communication and interpersonal skills Understanding of maritime market conditions Fluency in English Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Why You Should Join Us!
