Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be working with an international offshore energy organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant on a Staff basis. The role is full time; however, part time hours will be considered for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for successful international organisation with an excellent salary on offer too. You will be based in Aberdeen City Centre with the option to work a day per week from home.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

You will be an experienced accounts or finance assistant with proven accounts payable experience.
You will have excellent communication skills, excellent time management skills and be able to work well individually and as part of a team. Experience using SAP is desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Assistant will be providing accounting and administrative support to the Cost Accountant and Finance Manager. Responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving supplier invoices and employee expense claim forms and ensuring they are recorded processed for payment in a timely manner
  • Assisting with month-end accruals and prepayments
  • Verifying items billed against items ordered and received and reconciling differences
  • Dealing with vendor queries and reconciling supplier statements
  • Posting financial data to appropriate accounts in automated accounting system
  • Retrieving financial data from automated systems
  • Reviewing transactions for accuracy and correcting any errors identified via journal entry
  • Managing petty cash transactions
  • Maintaining spreadsheets, ledgers and journals as required
  • Providing support during client and financial audits
  • Monitoring the Purchase Order Register and engaging with budget holders to ensure accurate recognition of monthly cost accruals.
  • Assisting with the AFE process to ensure all unbudgeted expenditure is approved
