QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Completion of a two to three-year college program in business administration or in a related field is required or two to three years of related experience plus completion of secondary school is required
  • Minimum two (2) years hands-on experience in an accounting field, specifically accounts payable
  • Proficiency in MS Office computer applications and knowledge of ERP systems
  • Experience with InforLN and/or experience in a construction firm would be an asset
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A sense for confidentiality for all information received from the company
  • Good organization skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize to ensure timely completion of tasks

Responsibilities
  • Conduct all daily and monthly Accounts Payable activities
  • Work collaboratively to ensure effective accounting and administrative resource management
  • Work closely with division managers, project managers and procurement managers to ensure cost activity is accurately posted to A/P and Job Cost, as applicable
  • Process invoices for payments; prioritize invoices in accordance with probability of cash discounts as well as other terms of payment
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry, complete entries and process backup reports
  • Correspond with vendors and respond promptly to inquiries
  • Prepare analysis of vendor accounts and verify accuracy of all relevant documents
  • Maintain computerized records and/or providing data for input into general account system
  • Process employee expenses through Concur (or other system)
  • Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor with tasks like credit applications, vendor setup, vendor payments
  • Perform other ad-hoc administrative duties
