Our clients are currently in need of experienced Accounting Clerks to add to their organizational needs. These opportunities are full-time. These positions can be temporary, temporary to hire and direct hire.
An Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of an organization by performing various administrative and clerical tasks within the accounting department. The position involves accurate record-keeping, data entry, and collaboration with other finance professionals to ensure financial transactions are processed efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Data Entry:
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Ensure the timely and precise recording of transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expenses.
  • Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable:
  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorization.
  • Prepare and issue payments to vendors within established timelines.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate and send invoices to customers.
  • Record and apply payments received from customers.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Support the accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
  • Bank Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial records regularly.
  • Identify and investigate discrepancies and take corrective actions.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining the chart of accounts and financial filing systems.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Generate financial reports as required by management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicate with other departments, vendors, and customers to resolve issues and gather necessary information.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
