Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the industry located in Langley, British Columbia. The role involves maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts payable department. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out accurate and efficient processing of vendor invoices
  • Manage AP inbox to review, sort, and file invoices effectively
  • Interact with departments and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Perform reconciliation of vendor accounts and address inquiries
  • Execute credit applications for new vendors
  • Manage vendor additions and maintenance in SAGE 300 and IOS
  • Ensure timely processing of payments for government remittances
  • Review and input employee expense reports
  • Scrutinize invoices and payment requests for proper approvals and backup
  • Conduct month-end sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations
  • Aid in audit fieldwork for AP testing procedures
  • Develop and implement efficiencies within the payables department
  • Craft process documents for various procedures
  • Provide support for other AP clerk and AR clerk when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounts payable role.
  • Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, detail oriented manner.
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in English and in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
