Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Bakersfield, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounts payable operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in processing invoices, managing payments, and maintaining vendor relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Process a high volume of invoices and credit memos with accuracy, ensuring proper coding and adherence to payment terms.
  • Perform three-way matching for purchase orders, material receipts, and invoices to ensure compliance.
  • Execute weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers, while maintaining detailed records.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and statements to resolve discrepancies such as credit memos, overpayments, and past-due invoices.
  • Investigate and address vendor-related issues in collaboration with purchasing, operations, and other internal teams.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors by ensuring timely payments and resolving aged or outstanding items.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to revise purchase orders and invoices for accurate processing.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of accounts payable activities to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance accounts payable efficiency and accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in a high-volume accounts payable role, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in processing invoices, performing three-way matching, and managing vendor accounts.
  • Experience with weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
