ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance & Accounting or relevant experience.
- A minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in an Accounts Payable role.
- Excellent system skills (MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with an accounting system (Coins, Sage or similar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Responsibilities:
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
Gaeltec Utilities are seeking a full time Accounts Payable within our Finance Department to manage the accounts payable function at our Head Office located in Kilkenny.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the team where you will be responsible for supplier contacts and payments, monitoring of bank accounts, management of supplier/subcontractor accounts, along with assisting with the cash flow and planning tasks.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process payments to suppliers as per agreed terms to maintain continuous service;
- Negotiate and prioritising payments and credit terms;
- Point of contact for suppliers;
- Maintain supplier accounts and ensure payments are entered in a timely manner;
- Monitor bank accounts on a daily basis;
- Reconciling the bank accounts;
- Allocate customer receipts;
- Assist in cash flow and planning;
- Prepare weekly Customers, Suppliers and Subcontractors Aging reports;
- Petty cash and expenses process;
- Prepare and lodge monthly RCT and VAT returns;
- Notify Revenue of subcontractor PO’s and payments;
- Undertake other tasks where required, when colleagues are absent;
- Other ad hoc tasks that may arise in the Finance Department when required.
