Accounts Payable Manager Department: Finance Employment Type: Full Time Location: Redondo Beach Compensation: $100,000 - $125,000 / year Description AS the AP Manager at Impulse, you lead and scale our AP function as we continue to grow rapidly in the space industry. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely vendor payments, strong internal controls, and smooth collaboration across Finance, Purchasing, and Operations. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including invoice processing, payment execution, credit memos, cash management, and AP reporting Ensure all payments are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company policies and accounting standards Manage, mentor, and develop a team of AP specialists, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence Own and continuously improve AP policies, procedures, and workflows to support a scaling organization Resolve escalated vendor discrepancies, disputes, and payment issues with professionalism and urgency Maintain accurate vendor onboarding and records, including banking details, W-9s, and other required tax documentation Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate fraud risk Oversee compliance with California Sales & Use Tax and other applicable state and local sales tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, as well as annual 1099 preparation and filing Perform or oversee bank and corporate credit card reconciliations Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Finance, and Operations to streamline procure-to-pay processes Drive adoption and optimization of AP systems and tools, including Coupa and other automation platforms Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field 3+ years of management experience in a high-growth or complex environment 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting) Demonstrated experience using the Coupa P2P platform Advanced experience with QuickBooks Online Preferred Skills and Experience 5+ years of advanced accounts payable experience 3+ years of demonstrated experience with Ramp or modern corporate card / expense management tools Startup or aerospace/advanced manufacturing experience a plus Strong process improvement and internal controls background Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
