The ideal candidate will have demonstrated accounting knowledge with a firm grasp on financial accounting principles. Excellent communication skills will be invaluable as the AP Specialist engages with people both inside and outside the agency. Strong computer and system skills are necessary for projects that are assigned. Responsibilities: The AP Specialist is an integral part of the financial team. This position is supervised by the Financial Director and assists with the general financial operation of the agency. The AP Specialist is directly responsible for: Accounts Payable functions Monthly reconciliation and aging payables Credit Card Management Tracking of capitalized purchases Recurring obligations Tracking and monitoring specific expenses Restricted Asset Management Vendor Information, Annual 1099, and 1095 Filings In addition to the duties mentioned above the AP Specialist is assigned larger projects and assists the Staff Accountant in other accounting functions.
