Description Title Accounts Payable Specialist Department Accounting FLSA Status: Non Exempt Position Status: Full Time In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Maintain strict privileged, proprietary, guest, and employer confidentiality during and beyond the term of my employment. Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards. Position purpose To ensure accurate and timely payments to the Casino’s lenders and business partners. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Review invoices, prepare payment requisitions, and obtain appropriate approval in writing for payment. Review debit card transactions, ensure approval, and record account entry. Follow proper procedures in recording payments, reconciling the general ledger. Ensure compliance with prescribed standards, policies, and procedures. Obtain and maintain gaming license. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, some college education is preferred. At least 2 years previous accounting experience or combination of experience and equivalent education required. Must be at least 18. Special Position Requirements: Requires advanced computer skills. Requires Gaming License Work Requirements Requires problem solving skills, advanced computer skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Requires knowledge of standard accounting practices. Position involves prolonged sitting, stooping or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is performed in an office or casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
Responsibilities
The primary purpose is to ensure accurate and timely payments to the Casino’s lenders and business partners by reviewing invoices, preparing payment requisitions, and recording payments while reconciling the general ledger. Duties also include reviewing debit card transactions and ensuring compliance with prescribed standards and procedures.
