POSITION OVERVIEW:

E.P. Properties is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support daily invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment preparation, helping to ensure that our accounts payable operations run smoothly and accurately. You’ll work closely with other accounting team members and report directly to the Controller.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or experience in lieu of degree
  • 0–2 years of accounting, finance, or administrative experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Familiarity with accounting systems is a plus but not required
  • Eager to learn and grow within a supportive accounting team
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadline
Responsibilities

Invoice Processing

  • Receive and organize incoming invoices daily
  • Obtain necessary approvals for invoices
  • Accurately code invoices to the correct accounts, departments, and project codes
  • Prepare invoices for payment according to company policies

Payment Support

  • Assist with preparing check runs
  • Provide support for checks needing review or signature
  • Post and track various credit card transactions
  • Void checks as needed under guidance

Recordkeeping and Vendor Setup

  • Set up new vendors and collect required documentation (e.g., W-9 forms)
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files of all accounting documents
  • Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on missing invoices or discrepancies

Customer Service, Communication, General Support

  • Respond to vendor and internal team inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support positive relationships with vendors by researching and resolving basic questions
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and stakeholders across the company
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and administrative tasks as needed
