POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking one full-time Accounts Payable Specialist/ General Accountant to join our team in the Cookeville, TN area. Working under the direction of the CFO, the Accounts Payable Specialist primarily will handle duties related to billing, data entry, and purchasing. BTDS continues to grow at a rapid rate and this a newly created position to help facilitate our expansion efforts.

Duties Include:

  • Demonstrate accurate knowledge of BTDS’ standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding and knowledge of applicable regulated standards: American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor information at all times.
  • Data entry for all vendor invoices into QuickBooks online, including verifying vendor invoice details
  • Complete three-way matching processes in the company’s Inventory Management System
  • Prepare and execute weekly payment cycle
  • Handle new set-up duties, specifically opening new utility accounts.
  • Complete key period-end closing procedures including prepaid expense recognition, accrual review and bank reconciliations.
  • Attend required meetings and complete training for applicable duties, as assigned
  • Assist with other accounting tasks, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Computer skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Accounting or bookkeeping experience required
  • QuickBooks (or similar) experience preferred
  • Purchasing experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time Mon-Fri, typically around 8:30a-4:30p
Pay: Compensation is an hourly wage
