JOB SUMMARY
Piazza’s Fine Foods (“Piazza’s”), a growing two-store specialty grocery operation in the Bay Area, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a retail or grocery environment.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intact) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Process and verify all incoming invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
Ability to process a high volume of invoices.
Prepare and process weekly check runs
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with month-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations.
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to address payment inquiries and resolve issues.
Monitor and manage accounts payable email inbox.
Assist with special projects and other accounting tasks as needed.
