The Role: Accounts Payable Specialist The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in supporting Venus Aerospace’s growing finance operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role ensures accurate and timely accounts payable processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping scale accounting systems and processes. \n What You'll Get to Do You will be responsible for accounts payable, including invoice management, bill pay, account coding, and monitoring aged items. You’ll be a primary contact to vendors regarding outstanding invoices. You will be the primary source of data entry to our accounting software via reconciliation of credit card statements, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation functions. You will work closely with various team members to determine appropriate coding of daily transactions in accordance with GAAP. You’ll also prepare month-end reconciliations and assist on other reporting projects as needed. As Venus continues to grow, you’ll play a key role in building the accounting process to scale with the Company, which will include the adoption and implementation of new software platforms. This role will have a lot of room for growth and development as the business environment changes. What You Have 1-2+ years of experience processing accounts payable and/or expense management Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional environment Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with various levels of management Excel skills and experience required; comfort with MS-Office or Confluence platforms is a plus Strong critical thinking skills required to analyze and apply GAAP using independent thought and research You have a high level of comfort working collaboratively and partnering with teams across departments You are flexible and have the ability to adapt quickly to changes to company or team goals.
