Waste Connections of Canada, the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in Canada is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the GTA. We are looking for a safety inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Region Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for the full cycle of Accounts Payable, resolving Accounts Payable issues, completing special projects, and general support to the National Accounts Team.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Processing Accounts Payable
• Reconciling vendor A/P statements and corresponding with Vendor
• Assisting in preparation for monthly journal entries
• Monitoring and expensing capital items
• Ensuring all invoices are entered at month end for the A/P accrual
• Reconcile accounts
• Reconcile monthly GST submissions for various districts
• Reconcile inter-company transactions

If you have the following skills and experience, we would like to hear from you:

• 2-3 years of related accounts payable experience
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• An aptitude for numbers and data accuracy
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Full Cycle accounting experience is asset
• Great interpersonal and time management skills
