OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client. The primary responsibility of this role is processing vendor invoices (Accounts Payable) in a multi-plant environment. Additional duties include managing T&E expense approvals, overseeing credit card programs, and providing treasury support as a backup. This position will work closely with other accounting staff and department managers/supervisors to address accounting-related matters
Pay: $22-$25/hr
Shift Monday- Friday
8am to 4.30pm

SKILLS

  • High school diploma required; a degree in Accounting is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounting.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and document procedures in a logical and methodical manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with company and federal standards.

Responsibilities
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure proper approval before payment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address inquiries related to accounts payable.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations in all financial transactions.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Paychex, or Workday for data entry and reporting.
  • Support payroll management and benefits administration as required.
  • Participate in audits related to accounts payable and provide necessary documentation.
