Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our team in Arlington, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee critical aspects of government invoicing, project setup, and grants tracking while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with project managers and contribute to the financial success of a government contracting organization.

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze government and commercial contractual documents to ensure accuracy in labor categories, subcontracting, billing provisions, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Manage project setup for all contracts, including maintenance and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Create and maintain SOPs for project setup processes, ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Monitor contract funding and prepare invoices for various contract types, including time & materials, fixed price, and grants.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure labor postings are accurate and align with contractual agreements.
  • Oversee the recording of project costs, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • Reconcile billed and unbilled amounts against revenue on a monthly basis to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies related to billing and accounts receivable processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in billing and accounts receivable within the government contracting industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of debits and credits.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Intacct or NetForum.
  • Demonstrated expertise in government contracts, including federal invoicing and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing financial documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy.
