Atlas Molded Products, a Division of Atlas Roofing Corporation, specializes in the development and manufacture of innovative, high-quality, HFC- and HCGC- free Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation for construction, packaging, and original equipment management (OEM) products. Atlas EPS insulation is suitable for interior and exterior construction applications, various packaging uses and as part of manufactured systems, such as recreational vehicles, garage and pedestrian doors and sunroom panels.
Atlas Roofing Corporation, a privately owned company established in 1982, is an international and multi-divisional manufacturer of roofing, sheathing, facer, and insulation product solutions.
Atlas Molded Products is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Specialist in any of the following locations: (1. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, 2. Byron Center, Michigan or 3. Washington, Iowa).

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a computerized accounting environment.
  • Familiarity and experience with both mainframe and personal computers.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience should include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, month-end and year-end closings.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST SKILLS & ABILITY

  • Analytical, detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch, PeopleSoft experience a plus.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees, customers and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Accurately and efficiently process daily customer invoicing.
  • Work with customer service, sales representatives, and customers to process credits.

Accounts Payable

  • Accurately and efficiently process daily accounts payable transactions and do a 3-way matching process (Receiving paperwork/PO/invoice).
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Create and approve new vendors in ERP software, and verify all required documentation is obtained from vendor.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Assist with month end accruals for open AP item.
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Payable GL account at month end.
  • Run necessary reports such as open AP aging.

Month End

  • Assist with general month end close processes as directed by Manager.
  • Enter and post journal entries as directed by Manager.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts as directed by Manager.

Miscellaneous

  • Requires confidential treatment of cost data, sales information, and financial reports.
  • Responsible for normal care and safeguarding of personal computers, office machines, and software.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Helps to ensure compliance with all Atlas Roofing Corporation financial policies.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Responsible for immediate reporting of any activity that is not directed toward or has a negative effect on the facility, division, or corporation’s maximization of profitability.
  • Routinely keeps manager updated on happenings within the plant/(s) they are working with.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail as needed.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
