“Everyone is a customer for somebody, or a supplier to somebody.”

- W. Edwards Deming.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Receivable & Billing Assistant on behalf of an established services organisation based in the Canary Wharf area of London.

This temporary opportunity is ideal for an experienced finance professional looking to contribute to a busy finance team, taking responsibility for customer billing, account reconciliations and credit control. The role offers a varied workload, with opportunities to support process improvements and contribute to the implementation of new invoicing systems.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable & Billing Assistant will include:

  • Preparing and issuing accurate customer invoices in line with agreed terms.
  • Managing customer accounts, monitoring payments and resolving billing queries.
  • Supporting credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments and managing aged debt.
  • Processing credit notes, billing adjustments and account reconciliations.
  • Assisting with month-end procedures, revenue accruals and financial reporting.
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Contributing to process improvements and the implementation of electronic invoicing.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external customers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Providing supporting information for financial audits.

The successful Accounts Receivable & Billing Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing and credit control.
  • A good understanding of invoicing processes, reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience using accounting systems or CRM platforms, ideally Salesforce.
  • An AAT qualification or equivalent practical accounting experience.

Experience within a services environment and German language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

If you are an organised and detail-oriented finance professional looking for your next opportunity in accounts receivable and billing, Sheridan Maine would welcome your application.

You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.

Due to the high volume of applications, it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants. Therefore, if we have not responded to your application within five days, please assume that on this occasion your application has not been successful.
